Performance management as a system consisting of interlocking elements deliberately designed to achieve a purpose, that of achieving high performance. Within that system performance management is carried out through the processes of planning goal setting, monitoring, providing feedback, analysing and assessing performance, reviewing, dealing with under-performers and coaching.
